As a writer, my goals are simple: To get to a point of expertise where I don't struggle to put thoughts into words. Develop a unique voice and cultivate strong storytelling abilities. Increased audience awareness and adaptability.
Since I started The BAKE HOUSE on 30 December 2021, I have watched a few things I learnt through self-help books become tangible in my life.
Below are my insights.
Anyone can change their lives by their daily habits. For positive or negative outcomes.
Small daily habits aren't small forever. They compound.
Day 1- 2 x 1 = 2
Day 2 - 2 x 2 = 4
Day 3 - 2 x 3 = 6
It's brick upon brick.
The beauty of a successful life is in what journey you embark on everyday. Do you arrive at a destination without journeying? Now, the most important question is: What journey do you embark on daily?
When you start taking small, daily actions, it becomes uneasy to make excuses. I create content for The BAKE HOUSE every Sunday evening. Wake up as early as 6 AM most Sunday mornings to prepare for church. Engage in post-service activities. Return home to cook and prepare for the work week, have meeting(s)… When all is done, there are days when I just want to rest away, not sit by my laptop to plan and write. But I can't. I have to write.
You get a time management boost.
“Why are you always in a hurry to have your meeting, Rachael?” Someone had asked me in church, having noticed that I’m usually working at being the first team to meet with the church's leadership whenever there's a meeting.
“I have something to do when I get home and if I don't get out of here on time to get started on it, I might have a short night.”
When you start building habits, you become intentional about spending your time well.
When you nurture small habits consistently, you feel good about yourself. This in turn helps you to radiate positivity in life. Oh, you need to see me on the days when I wake up at 5 AM, do some workout routines and/or read before going to work. I hit differently. And that's why it's on mornings when I don't feel up to it that I force myself to workout. Even if it's for 5 minutes.
In as much as I have tried and tested how much I could gain by forging small, daily actions, I still struggle. The only areas I have been able to maintain against all odds are reading every day and writing every week.
For example, I have not been able to maintain the same for working out. And I know it's possible because my friend, Nelson Ogbe, does that. So I know I can do more. Good thing is I have started working around doing more since April started.
Stopping some daily bad habits. And strengthening the positive ones.
I was thinking about what else I could do and it occured to me that I am not alone.
What about you?
Are there areas of your life’s goals that you want to build daily habits around?
Can we do this together?
Show up and hold ourselves accountable.
It doesn't matter what it's.
To do less of negative habits each day?
To do more positive habits each day?
We can hold hands and walk together in truth and accountability.

Questions for YOU:
1. What journey do you envision for yourself daily, and how does it align with your long-term goals?
2. Reflecting on your daily habits, what small actions could you commit to that would contribute to your growth and development?
3. How do you currently manage your time, and what adjustments could you make to prioritize activities that nurture your personal growth?
4. In what areas of your life do you already feel good about yourself, and how can you replicate those positive feelings in other aspects?
5. What challenges have you faced in maintaining daily habits, and what support or resources do you need to overcome them?
6. Reflect on the concept of accountability. How can being part of a supportive community help you stay committed to your daily actions for personal growth?
Thank you for the questions. I will take my time to reflect and answer them. And for offering a free accountability group. God bless you and The BAKE House.
Whenever your writings include questions, it hits differently and provoke lots of thoughts and actions.
You are indeed not alone and I am also certainly not alone. Good good to know. Thank you for your consistency.
